Book Review: The Chasm by Randy Alcorn

I just finished reading a book called The Chasm by Randy Alcorn. I actually read it twice - it was such a short book, I couldn't believe I'd taken it all in the first time! I have to say, the contents of this 110 page book, just blew my mind. There were parts of it, I was certain were written for me alone. Alcorn takes his reader through the journey to salvation in one of the most original ways I've ever experienced. The story is haunting, but so realistic, you can't help but feel the Spirit working in your own journey as you recognize the pieces of pain, doubt and the loss of hope we all experience in our attempts to solidify our relationships with Christ.

The Chasm is a beautifully written and genuine illustration of our journey with Christ. Alcorn presents and honest depiction of how most of us attempt to become the master of our own lives, and can allow ourselves to become blinded to the realities in the world around us and the choices we make in our own lives. Alcorns imagery is brilliant and his approach allows the reader to relate to and follow the main character through his struggles with salvation. I definitely recommend this book!!
I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review. This book can be purchased from: http://www.alibris.com/amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, booksamillion.com, borders.com
